Our winter in Altenmarkt/Zauchensee

Zauchensee, at 1.350m altitude, is the highest lying ski area in Salzburg’s Sportwelt in the heart of the Ski amadé.

It is not for nothing that it is known far and wide as a “snow cavity”. It is not uncommon to have two metres of snow on the mountain, right through to spring.


Altenmarkt / Zauchensee is the ideal gateway for the Ski amadé.

With 860 kilometres of pistes Ski amadé breaks all the dimensions of skiing pleasure. 99 kilometres of pistes alone are allotted to our Zauchensee / Flachauwinkl / Kleinarl area.

Our pistes play all roles: from the “blue” gliding section to the “black” steep slope; from the family slope to the high speed piste.


Salzburg’s Sportwelt in the heart of the Ski amadé - pure skiing pleasure. With us, you can get direct from the hotel to the ski piste, no traffic jams, no waiting at the lift cash-desks – and we issue your ski pass at Reception.

Become a ‘peak conqueror’ in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee! The powder snow is fluffy, while there are mountains as far as the eye can see. A new challenge for the whole family, every day, and lots of fun and a great atmosphere in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee.

Co-operation with our friends and neighbours is excellent! A joint evening programme of events in the peak season is organized by “Zauchensee – holiday pearls”: whether it’s an evening in an Alpine hut, a guided snow-shoe hike in the evening winter forest, or ice-skating on some free hire skates – there is plenty of diversity on offer.
